Founder and Chief Executive Director

Darryl Jenkins, The founder of Soaring Grounds Foundation was inspired to create a space where families can come together to collaborate, work as a team, and learn from one another through sports and recreation. Motivated by the power of teamwork, Mr. Jenkins developed programs that encourage full family participation, helping each member build bridges and understand the many ways to achieve common goals when the family unit works together. In addition to sports, Mr. Jenkins established Soaring Grounds as a resource hub for individuals seeking support in community and economic development, independence, and self-sustainability. His vision is for Soaring Grounds Foundation to serve as a bridge to success for all who seek guidance and support.

Reimy Gonzalez, a Dominican Republic-born photographer and video guru, is passionate about the power of visuals and their ability to connect people. With a Bachelor's degree in Communication Arts and a minor in Photography, Remy values the impact that imagery can have in conveying messages and emotions. As a board member, he takes charge of overseeing all visual representations of the Soaring Grounds and its online presence, recognizing the significance of visual storytelling in promoting the mission. Remy actively participates in the cultivation of media development programs, contributing to the Soaring Grounds' initiatives. Growing up in Washington Heights, and Harlem, Remy's diverse background and educational background further enrich his creative perspective and storytelling abilities.

Devon, affectionately known as “Coach Doug” is an alumnus of the Institutional Transformative Mentor (ITM) mentorship program and a dedicated coach at Soaring Grounds. Drawing on his basketball expertise and mentorship experience within the community, he believes that every child has the potential to achieve their goals—whether in sports or in the classroom. The Soaring Grounds team is committed to helping every child realize their greatness by nurturing their talents, encouraging their learning, and supporting their personal growth.
